Dodie has been rocking the beauty industry since 1984 (yes… you can do the math ). She is the proud owner and operator of Wright Hair & Co., which she has led since 2009, and she’s heading into her 19th year as a Professor in Fanshawe College’s Hairstylist Program.

Dodie takes inspiring young minds very seriously. Education is at the heart of everything she does, which is why she actively encourages apprenticeship within her salon and has sponsored so many apprentices over the last 16 years she’s honestly lost track. Watching new talent grow is one of her greatest joys.

In addition to working behind the chair and teaching part-time at the college, Dodie is also a hair extension specialist, specializing in V-Light extensions for thinning hairlines — because confidence starts at the roots (literally).

Born and raised right down the street, Dodie still lives in Old South, where she and her husband Brian raised their three children. She is also a very proud grandma to four, which she considers her most important title of all.

When she’s not behind the chair or teaching (and somehow still finding energy), Dodie stays deeply involved in the industry. She’s a big believer in constant education, staying current, and showing up — from attending hair shows, to competing and judging in industry competitions, to volunteering services for her favourite charities every year.

What sets Wright Hair & Co. apart? Dodie believes it’s passion, education, community, and a whole lot of heart. Her fun-loving personality and contagious positive energy will draw you to her chair. Her dedication to her craft is what keeps clients coming back again and again.

Ashley has been part of Wright Hair & Co. since the very beginning in September 2009. She and Dodie first met while attending Fanshawe College in Woodstock, and shortly after, Ashley began her apprenticeship with the salon. Over the years, through dedication and hard work, she’s built a large and loyal clientele while also taking on the role of salon manager.

A naturally creative and artistic soul, Ashley quickly discovered that hairstyling was her true passion. Growing up in the small town of Walkerton, she followed her dreams to the big city of London, where her talent and drive continued to flourish. Her commitment to growth led her to compete in numerous hairstyling competitions, earning 2nd place in SKILLS Ontario 2011 and a Top 6 placement at Hairapalooza Toronto 2011.

Even with her busy salon life, Ashley never stops learning — regularly attending industry events and living by her motto: “There’s always something to learn.”

Ashley’s warm heart and infectious laugh make everyone feel welcome. She truly believes in helping others, whether it’s through her work behind the chair or her involvement in the community — because, as she says, “everyone’s got a story to tell.”

 A true ray of sunshine in the salon, this bubbly stylist has been immersed in the world of hair her entire life. Growing up with a mom in the industry meant feeling right at home behind the chair from an early age. A familiar face at Wright Hair & Co. since just 15, she’s grown alongside the salon, helping during busy seasons and now proudly stepping into the role of Assistant Manager.

Entering the industry in Spring 2017 and graduating from Fanshawe Woodstock in 2020, she continues to fuel her passion by learning and evolving every single day. Alongside hair, she has honed her skills as a Makeup Artist, working on wedding parties, proms, graduations, editorial photo shoots, a Rogers TV show, and various charity events. She has also competed in multiple makeup competitions at the ABA’s in Toronto.

Her heart in the salon lies in all things colour, from bold fashion shades to helping guests achieve their happiest, healthiest hair. Meeting new clients, building genuine connections, and creating a welcoming experience is always the goal.

Her motto says it best: “Helping others lead with confidence.”

Expect plenty of laughs, positive energy, and an experience that leaves you feeling great inside and out.

Julie has been with Wright Hair & Co since 2016. After taking hairstyling courses in high school, she began her apprenticeship and completed her hair education at Fanshawe College, at the same time! 

Julie believes great hair starts with a good conversation. Honesty, communication, a safe space to giggle about your kitchen scissors bangs, or your harder moments (judgement free), are the vibes she looks forward too.  She strives to not only give you great hair, but emphasizes the importance of building a bond with her clients. She takes the time to understand your goals, lifestyle, and hair history so you leave the salon with a style that works for you on your best and worst hair days! She believes in educating clients & helping to bridge the mysteries of hair magic, so that you can work together to achieve your goals best. 

Whether you’re looking for a subtle refresh or fixing a previous color mishap, Julie focuses on healthy hair and results you can actually maintain. She specializes in lived-in color and color corrections, creating natural, effortless results that grow out beautifully. 

Known for her easygoing, welcoming vibe, Julie creates a relaxed space where clients can feel comfortable and cared for. Her goal is simple: great hair, no stress.

APPRENTICE
Think of Savannah as the friend you always relied on before a night out to do hair and makeup for the entire group. Upon meeting her, you'll understand exactly why this has always been her designated role—and naturally, her friendly energy and keen instinct for what’s current carries into her work here at Wright Hair & Co.

Since her graduation from Fanshawe College’s hairstylist program in back 2023, Savannah has continued to refine her craft through ongoing learning—staying on top of evolving techniques and translating her clients’ dream styles into effortless, real-life looks. Over the years, she’s built a growing, loyal clientele and remains deeply grateful for the trust they place in her.

Savannah believes that self-expression plays an important role in how aligned and confident we feel in our everyday lives. She sees her work as a way of helping clients express themselves in a way that feels true to who they are, inside and out. She values the relationships formed in her chair and feels incredibly fortunate to do what she loves every day. As she continues to grow and evolve within the industry, Savannah looks forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces here at the salon. 

APPRENTICE 

 Kelsey joined Wright Hair & Co. in 2024 as an apprentice after graduating with honours from the Hairstylist Program at Fanshawe College. She is Hair Flair Extensions certified and is passionate about mastering blonding and colouring services. Kelsey’s goal is simple: to help every client leave feeling confident, happy, and loving their new hair. She is known for her warm, friendly nature, she creates a welcoming and comfortable experience in her chair. Kelsey is excited to build long-lasting client relationships and grow her career in the hair industry. 

APPRENTICE 

Jenna is the newest apprentice to join the Wright Hair & Co. team. She brings a passion for hairstyling and a strong commitment to her craft. A 2023 graduate of Fanshawe College, she has developed a solid foundation in hairstyling and is excited to continue building on her skills. With a keen eagerness to learn and a dedication to perfecting her techniques, Jenna is determined to grow as a stylist and contribute to the salon's success. She looks forward to gaining valuable experience in a creative and supportive environment while furthering her professional career. 

APPRENTICE 

Hanna is the newest apprentice at Wright Hair & Co. and brings a positive and outgoing energy to the salon. She is thrilled to be starting her career in such a creative and welcoming space. A Fanshawe College honours graduate from December 2025, Hanna has a strong foundation in hairstyling and an eagerness to keep learning, growing and perfecting her craft every day.

With a passion for all things hair and a love for connecting with people, Hanna believes great hair can completely change how someone feels. 

Whether she is assisting behind the scenes, welcoming guests into the salon, or helping someone feel their best, Hanna is always focused on creating positive, feel-good experiences. As she begins this next chapter, she looks forward to meeting new clients, building meaningful connections, and helping everyone leave the salon feeling confident, refreshed and happy.

APPRENTICE

Alex started working at Wright Hair & Co. for his high school Co-Op at H.B.Beal secondary school, and is now fulfilling his apprenticeship. Alex is now completing his college diploma in hairstyling at Fanshawe College. 

Alex wishes to specialize in vivid and alternative colouring and cutting. He loves making people feel comfortable in their own skin -- or hair. 

Alex is eager to learn new ways to do hair. He graduated high school in the Hairstyling and Aesthetics Specialized High Skills Major (SHSM). In this SHSM, Alex was invited to compete in the 2025 Ontario Hairstyling Skills Competition where his dedication and hard work placed 5th place. 

Alex is a compassionate person with lots of care. Alex hopes to always grow as a person, and a stylist.
